It is legally mandatory to maintain and inspect systems larger than 130 kW in conformity with the SCIOS 1) certification regulation or equivalent. Thermeta has been certified for SCIOS under SCIOS registration number 102 for carrying out maintenance and inspection activities on combustion plants. Thermeta Service BV is a member of BVS (Branch Association for SCIOS-certified companies). The Certifying Authority (CI) is Kiwa Gastec.

The service and inspection team consists of competent engineers, engineers-inspectors and inspectors trained and qualified for the respective SCIOS scopes. The services of the service and inspection team can be deployed per incident or on a contract basis.

The services that are delivered include:

• First or special inspection
       (to be carried out at every (new) combustion plant)
• Periodic maintenance
       (on an annual basis or more often if required by the manufacturer)
  
• Periodic inspection
       (every two years after first or special inspection)
• Bees B measurements (flue gas measurement for checking for compliance with the regulations)
• Emergency service – available 24 hours/7 days per week

The importance of maintenance:
Apart from the obligation for inspection and maintenance, regular maintenance by our specialised engineers prevents many problems and results in a higher efficiency of the fuel used. Burner adjustment, CO2 content in flue gases, CO production of burner, properly working CO2 source valves, and properly working and calibrated CO detector to avoid supply of too much CO to your product are of particular importance. Problems or near-problems are often solved beforehand because of regular maintenance of your system.

1) SCIOS
Stichting Certificatie Inspectie en Onderhoud Stookinstallaties [Foundation for Certification, Inspection and Maintenance of Combustion Plants] (SCIOS) manages a quality system in the specific area of professional combustion plants. For this the foundation has set up the SCIOS certification system. Owners of a SCIOS certificate carry out maintenance and inspection activities in compliance with the legally required quality concerning efficiency, safety and environmental impact. The SCIOS was founded on 27 May 1998 and is managed by a board in which the competent authority (the municipalities), those subject to Order in Council (the buyers) and executives are represented and with an independent chairman. SCIOS is supported by a Central Council of Experts that consists of representatives of AVAG, Gasunie, KW2, VIV/VLWK, FIGO, VNI, FME/CVM/VFK, observants on behalf of LMI/FHI and Visa-committee, representatives of the associated certifying authorities.
